Just thought I would show you guys that my tattoo is completely healed now and the psoriasis has gone away from it. The guttate didn’t damage the tattoo at all, as you can see. I was putting on PsoriaFlora, which was helping the psoriasis on the tattoo, but not as fast as I wanted. So I decided to try the Protopic ointment on there even though I wasn’t sure if it was going to damage the tattoo. But it didn’t! Turned out great!
This just goes to show you that you don’t have to alter your life completely when you have psoriasis. It can be a little more care intensive and annoying at times, but bottom line you can still live a semi-normal life and do the same things other people do.
When I had psoriasis really bad all over my body, people used to always comment to me that they thought it was impressive that I didn’t let my skin bother me in public. I would still go to the beach in a bikini and wear mini skirts and tank tops… I won’t say it didn’t bother me sometimes, but I decided not to give it my power.
I remember times in college when I would go to the outdoor pool and people would kind of look at me with disgust, thinking I was getting into the water with a contagious disease. Even though it was embarrassing at times, I realized that I could help educate those people about psoriasis. I chose not to let those people bother me.
You have to still see your own beauty regardless of how helpless you feel with psoriasis. Plus your skin need vitamin D from the sun! So I say let your skin breathe in the open air and sun no matter what people might think of you and maybe you can educate them too! The more consciousness in the world about psoriasis, the better!
